About the experience
OhGosh.Gallery was a boutique e-commerce homeware brand I founded and ran end to end, from the first Illustrator sketch of the logo to packing orders at the kitchen table. I built the identity, the product range, the tone of voice, the Shopify store and the physical retail experience, and made most of the products by hand.
The store lived on Shopify, and I designed and managed the entire site, from category structure and product photography to launch pages, email flows and seasonal takeovers. Alongside online sales I ran a series of pop-up retail experiences, including a stocked shelf inside Boots UK, which meant designing shelf-ready packaging, price ticketing and in-store displays that could stand up next to household brands.
The product line was built on original digital illustrations and resin artworks, so a lot of the creative work was truly hands-on. I painted, poured and finished the pieces, styled and shot the photography, and designed every piece of packaging, insert card and product tag in-house so the unboxing felt considered rather than commercial.
Around the products I grew a community through strong visual storytelling on Instagram and a considered email programme, treating the audience as regulars in a gallery rather than a mailing list. It taught me to run a brand as a small business, to sit inside every discipline it needs, and to see design as something a customer holds in their hand, not just something that lives on screen.
