Freelance Graphic Designer

Alongside my in-house role, I run a freelance practice designing and delivering bespoke, detail-led print and visual systems for private and event clients. Most of the work sits in the world of weddings and celebrations, complex invitation suites with multiple inserts, menus, seating plans, welcome signs and large-format display boards, but I also take on illustration commissions, cocktail menus, wordmarks and one-off print pieces for hospitality and lifestyle clients.

I lead each project end to end. That starts with a proper client consultation to understand the mood, the guest list, the venue, the schedule and the family conventions that need respecting, then moves into creative direction, concept development, motif building and final execution. Clarity, consistency and high production standards are non-negotiable throughout.

Every suite is built on a structured layout with strong typographic hierarchy, thoughtful colour balance and clear visual flow so a ten-piece stationery set still reads as one considered whole. Motifs, borders and paper stocks are chosen so a chunni card feels distinct from a sangeet card while still speaking the same visual language.

Artwork is prepared as accurate, print-ready files with bleed, crop marks, correct colour profiles and paper-specific tweaks. I manage specifications, finishes and production requirements directly with the printer so there is zero margin for error on the day the boxes arrive.

The freelance work has taught me to balance creativity with precision while juggling several clients, timelines and delivery dates at once, often on top of a full-time role. Every commission is treated as if my name is on the back of the invite, because it usually is.
